Clearway School continues to be run under a Co-Director model. Currently there are three co-directors who share in the administrative functions of the school. Although their responsibilities vary, all co-directors perform some direct care with students. This direct care is essential for co-directors to be connected to the needs of the program.

Peter Rosen (B.A. Harvard University; M.Ed. Harvard Graduate School of Education) - Peter is the Education Director at Clearway School. This means that he has the ultimate oversight of the educational program. He supervises the teaching staff and continuously modifies the curriculum of Clearway School. Peter has been in hundreds of classes throughout the year in various roles including teacher, co-teacher, and observer. In his time at Clearway School he has helped to establish or re-establish a number of programs including community service, theater, wood shop, and after-school. Peter is licensed as a Special Education Administrator and is licensed as a teacher in social studies, mathematics and special education. Peter is currently in his 14th year at Clearway School.

Mary Ryan (B.A. Boston College) - Mary is the Administrator of Clearway School. She is in charge of the day to day running of the program. Mary is the direct link to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and is responsible for implementing all policy and procedures according to DESE and federal regulations. Mary handles all business aspects of the school. She consults to the Parent Advisory Council and is in direct communication with the Board of Directors. Mary is a certified special education and regular education teacher (K-12). Prior to working at Clearway School Mary taught in public schools working in resource rooms. She also coordinated a special education program in an alternative public school. She is a certified Orton Gillingham Instructor. Mary is currently in her 24th year at Clearway School.

David Veling (B.A. Dickinson College; M.S. Ed. Simmons College) David is the Director of Admissions and Guidance at Clearway School. David is the most visible Co-Director because he talks and meets with representatives of all the public school systems who use our services. As the coordinator for admissions, David meets with prospective students and their families to talk about the program, tour classrooms, and evaluate applicants. For all of our students and families, he is the first important link to new and appropriate services. David joined Clearway after eleven years at Landmark School in Prides Crossing, and is licensed at the Professional Level in Special Needs and History. David also holds adjunct status in the Graduate and Continuing Education programs at Simmons College and Fitchburg State College, and has taught a variety of courses, including Formal & Informal Assessment, Introduction to Assessment of Learning Skills, Introduction to Assessment of Cognitive Skills, and Overview of Cognitive Assessment and its Role.
